NYC Summer Streets

Take a second, close your eyes, and envision Park Avenue closed from downtown all the way up to Central Park. Got it? Good. Now, think of this whole strip opened to people, bikers, bands, kids, vendors, and so on....to do ...well relatively anything. That's right, no mass herds of screeching New York City taxis, pissed off drivers or blind bus drivers. Just people. Ok, now open your eyes, grab your calendar and note that for three consecutive Saturdays in August (starting August 9th), this will take place. It's an initiative the city is taking part of for its "Going Green" campaign to persuade people into using simple means of transportation.
